An air mail Postage Due cover from Shanghai to Peiping, on front bearing SYS 2nd Shanghai Dah Tung print $5,000 in pair, one stamp damaged due to the rough opening at right, tied by bilingual ‘SHANGHAI’ cods, alongside hand stamped ‘T/ Postage Due’ frame chop in black char. on reverse with CNC Shanghai Dah Yeh surcharged $2,000 on $3 on SYS Central Trust print, tied by bilingual ‘PEIPING’ cds, date not clear. 756 1948 (11 Aug.) An air mail Gold Yuan postage due cover from Ceylon to Shanghai, bearing Ceylon KGVI pictorial 25c and 50c, tied by ‘OOLOMBO’ cds, alongside ‘FTS’ in black circle, plus bearing the ROC surcharged on 2nd London print postage due stamps $30,000 on $1,000 in large block of 40 (10 x 4) which is larger than the original cover, thus, those stamps were franked on both sides, total rate $1,200,000, tied by bilingual ‘SHANGHAI/24.8.48’ cds.
